District Recognized by Oregon Department of Education

The Oregon Department of Education (ODE) is working to identify and highlight district “bright spots” across our state for their notable progress and success with English Language Learner (ELL) programs. In reviewing Annual Measurable Achievement Objectives (AMAO) data and results, we recognize that Warrenton-Hammond met AMAOs in both 2010-11 and 2011-12. We applaud your dedicated efforts and achievements! ODE is frequently contacted by the media regarding districts that are closing the achievement gap for English Language Learners. We would like to highlight your district as a “bright spot” in response to these requests. We would also love to hear from you on the methods and strategies implemented within your district to achieve this level of progress, and how your best practices are resulting in increased achievements for English Language Learners.

Healthy Kids

We know an education is the best gift we can give our children. We also know that healthy kids learn better and healthy kids start with health coverage that their families can afford.

For local assistance with your Healthy Kids application please contact Judi Mahoney, Healthy Kids Outreach and Enrollment Worker for Clatsop County: (503) 358-2333, or via email at: judimahoney@yahoo.com
